Colonie, NY – Catherine “Kitty” Frances Rotchford, 78, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She suffered from Alzheimer’s disease for over 15 years.

Catherine was born March 13, 1930 in New York City and was the daughter of the late James and Catherine (Egan) Burke. She was born and raised in New York City and had been a Colonie resident for the past 35 years. She worked for the New York State Office of General Services for 30 years, before retiring in 1987. She enjoyed caring for her children and grandchildren.

Catherine is survived by her children, Catherine (Douglas) Manley of Colonie, Mary (Mark) Osborne of Glenmont, Michael (Margie) Rotchford of Saratoga Springs, Peter Rotchford of Colonie, Teresa (Michael) Cantara of East Granby, Conn. and Patrick (Linda) Rotchford of Colonie; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristin and Andrew Manley, Sean Osborne, Victoria, Christina, Daniel, Matthew and Thomas Rotchford; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of over 30 years, Daniel Francis Rotchford, who died in 1985. She was also predeceased by her son Daniel Rotchford; her sister, Mary; and her brother, Thomas.

Relatives and friends gathered on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home in Colonie. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 from the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Clare’s Church in Albany, NY.

Entombment followed at Memory’s Garden in Colonie. Memorial contributions in Catherine’s name may be made to The Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital, 315 So. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
