Dorothy J. (Westra) Chittenden
Saratoga Springs, NY - Dorothy J. (Westra) Chittenden passed away Monday (March 31, 2008) at the Wesley Health Care Center, Lawrence St. She was 94. Born on June 25, 1913 in Tonawanda, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Etta (Harkins) Westra. She attended school in Tonawanda and graduate from Kibler High School. Dorothy married the love of her life, Paul A. Chittenden on Feb. 27, 1933. Her husband of over 56 years died on Sept. 12, 1989. She enjoyed gardening in her spare time and was a member of St. Clement’s Church in Saratoga Springs. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is predeceased by her daughter, Anne E. Wilcox, who died Aug. 21, 2001 and one sister, Helen Westra. Survivors include her son-in-law, Wayne Wilcox of Saratoga Springs; four grandchildren, Lisa and Wayne Wilcox, Tina Knott and Julie Hinckley; five great-grandchildren, Shawn Wilcox, Cassi and Molly Knott, Krystal and William Hinckley and two great-great-grandchildren, Damian and Ashley Wilcox. Dorothy is also survived by five sisters and four brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Friday (Apr. 4, 2008) in St. Clement’s Church, 231 Lake Ave. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Ave. There will be no calling hours. Memorials may be made in her name to St. Clement’s Church, 231 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J.
