It’s been a pretty exciting year at the Adventure Family Fun Center.
Last March, the Queensbury-based fun park went through some major renovations that increased the total size of the establishment to more than 24,000-square feet. From the start, the owners have been hearing nothing but encouraging words. “We’ve been getting a lot of positive feedback about all the changes,” partner Dexter Jenkins said. “When people come here, they get a big surprise because many didn’t even know we were here.” Jenkins has been involved for three years and is a partner in the business with Ken and Justin Ermiger, who have been with it for the last 12. Located on Route 9, Adventure is now open year-round, rain or shine. By moving much of the fun inside, the owners have been able to take advantage of the winter months when many kids are looking for somewhere to go and have fun. “One of our biggest draws has been after-school functions and after-proms,” Jenkins said. “We’re able to help eliminate having kids on the road.” Among the major additions to the center is an indoor Go-Kart track to complement the outdoor one, a paint ball shooting gallery, a rock climbing wall, a trampoline with bungee jumping, a bounce house, dance floor with karaoke and work is being completed on a food court. Adventure also features a multi-level state of the art Star Wars laser tag arena. The light weight backpacks make playing enjoyable for small children. The cost is $7 for a 12-minute game. The huge arcade features your traditional fare, but also includes a dance machine, the shooting gallery, ticket redemption games and old-fashioned pinball and video games. Adventure isn’t just for kids as it also offers corporate team building and fundraisers for adults. The decision to make additions to the business wasn’t very difficult for the trio. “We started seeing a lot of kids coming over from the water park up the street who were looking for something else to do,” Jenkins said.
