After graduating this past May, I spent almost eight months of my life sifting through local classified ads and searching internet job sites in an attempt to find that highly coveted first job.

My long and tedious journey finally ended this past week when I was given the opportunity, thanks to Chad Beatty and Eric DeGrechie, to become a part of the Saratoga TODAY team as a reporter.

I grew up a few miles north of Saratoga Springs in the small town of Hudson Falls. After graduating from Hudson Falls Senior High School, I entered college at SUNY Cobleskill where

I got my first taste in reporting while taking a course in journalism. The class would later lead to my first published work in the school’s paper, and an undying passion to one day make journalism my career.

After graduating from Cobleskill I decided to continue my education by enrolling at SUNY Oneonta. While there, I majored in music industry and minored in English with the hope of one day pursuing a career in music journalism.  I continued to write periodically for the school’s paper, but eventually decided I needed another outlet. This led to the creation of my own local music and cultural publication which I wrote and published for more than two years.

Having landed my first post-college job, I am excited about the opportunity of starting a new chapter in my life as a reporter.
