SARATOGA SPRINGS - With bragging rights and territorial supremacy on the line, the annual Saratoga Springs Mayor’s Cup will be on the line once again Saturday night at the West Side Recreation Field.
The Mayor’s Cup is contested by teams representing the Saratoga Springs American Little League and Saratoga Springs National Little League in the minor and major divisions. The minor division consists of kids between the ages of 8-10, while the major division is made up of 11-12-year-old kids. In the minors, the Americans are represented by Dehn’s, which posted an 8-8 regular season record before reeling off four-straight playoff victories. Dehn’s will face Fitzpatrick’s of the National Little League, which posted a 14-2 regular season record. In the majors, the Americans are represented by American Legion for the second-straight year. American Legion posted a 15-9 regular season record. The Nationals send Rotary into the Mayor’s Cup with first pitch set for 6 p.m. In Wilton tonight, Wilton Youth Baseball kicks off the Cal Ripkin 10-year-old all-star tournament that at Gavin Park. Opening ceremonies are tonight with the five-day tournament following the festivities. |
