Sandra L Nappi

Greenfield Center - Sandra L Nappi “Tillie” went into the arms of the Lord Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Saratoga Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was 57.

Born February 8, 1950 in Presque Isle Maine, she was the daughter of the late Ernest S Hughes and Mamie K York Hughes-Lubee. Tillie had many interests in her life.  She was an avid crafter.

She loved taking care of the young and the old, anyone in need.  She enjoyed all aspects of people’s lives.  Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she would do anything for any of them.  They are who they are today because of her influence on them. Tillie was a member of the American Legion Adirondack Post 70 Ladies Auxillary where she served as President for many years.  She devoted every Sunday to BINGO at the American Legion where she worked tirelessly. She truly enjoyed life to the fullest.  She had a story for anyone  that had the time to sit and listen.  Her words of wisdom will be forever remembered.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a grandson, Bradley, her father-in-law Carl Nappi and her sister-in-law Nancy Nappi.

Survivors include her devoted husband, Richard A Nappi of Greenfield Center, her three sons; Kirt Nappi and his fiance, Darlene Sorcio of Porter Corners,  Timothy Nappi and his wife Klaire of Saratoga Springs, Michael Nappi and his wife Tammy  of Greenfield Center,  her sisters; Rose Marie “Veda” Wyman and husband Jeff and Bonnie Bergeron and husband Bill, and her stepfather Horace Lubee all of Maine,  beloved grandchildren; Kassie Nappi of California, Elizabeth Nappi of Saratoga Springs, Richard Nappi II of Porter Corners, Zachary Nappi of Saratoga Springs and Scotty Nappi of Greenfield Center,  two step-grandchildren, Galadriel Lovett and Justin Laviolette, a step-great granddaughter; Savannah Lovett,  her dog Ellie, mother-in-law; Gertrude Nappi, of Schenectady, brother in laws; Carl Nappi and wife Diane of Glenville, Thomas Nappi and wife Donna and Francis Nappi all of Schenectady. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as her devoted friends; Rita Seeley, Jeri Utter, and Diane Nappi who showed their love and devotion to Tillie right up until the end.

Relatives and friends called Thursday at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373). The American Legion Adirondack Post 70 Ladies Auxiliary met at the funeral home for a prayer service.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Clement’s Church, 231 Lake Ave.

Burial will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road.

Memorials may be made in Tillie’s name to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211.
