William H. Cottengim

 

Malta-William H. Cottengim passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy. He was 85.

 

Born on April 1, 1922 in London, Kentucky, he is the son of the late Homer and Maude Gray Cottengim. William served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II as a bomber pilot. He was an avid golfer and loved photography. He worked for 60 years in the engineering field. He recently retired from Integrated Building Systems in East Greenbush. William was involved in the building of the South Mall in Albany and in the designing of the library at Skidmore College.

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Vivian Cottengim, his five loving children; William and Lori Cottengim of Westfield, MA, Kenneth and Lucy March of Ancram, NY, Paul and Dorothy March of Hudson, NY, Rick and Ann March of Latham, NY and Donna and John Rich of North Greenbush, NY, twenty grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, one cousin and a nephew.

 

There will be no calling hours.

 

A funeral service was held Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 at 12:30pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville.

Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373).
