Almost 14,000 revelers turned out for First Night Saratoga 2007 to celebrate New Year’s Eve in the Spa City.
YMCA Community Events Coordinator Maureen Duda said the family-oriented, alcohol-free celebration of the arts went very well. “There were huge crowds everywhere you went,” Duda said. “Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.” The 12th annual First Night Saratoga celebration, whose theme was “Paint the Town,” didn’t completely sell out. However, Duda said they only had a few hundred tickets left unsold. Although a few volunteers fell ill, most of them came out. Overall, Duda said the event ran very smoothly. Duda said she has already received a lot of positive feedback regarding the night’s performers. She also described downtown Saratoga as “a winter wonderland.” “It looked beautiful,” she said. “The night was cool but not too cold. The weather was perfect; I can’t believe our luck.” |
