The Saratoga Springs High School varsity ice hockey team will try and win for the third time in four games tonight (Jan. 4) at home versus Glens Falls.
The game begins at 6:30 p.m. The Blue Streaks (3-4 Capital District High School Hockey League, 4-5-1 overall) defeated LaSalle, 1-0, in their latest. Senior forward Greg Jacot scored the game-winning goal with 3:56 left in the second period. Sophomore goaltender Graeme Bulmer stopped 31 shots for the winners. Following the Glens Falls contest, Saratoga travels to Guilderland on Saturday. Boys’ basketball Saratoga Springs plays its first home game since Dec. 18 tonight against Guilderland in a 7:30 p.m. tilt. The Blue Streaks (2-3, 4-5) have dropped two of three. Junior Jordan Stevens leads the Blue Streaks in scoring with 22.6 points per game and is fourth in Section II in that category. Schuylerville looks for its sixth straight win on the road at Hoosick Falls. The Black Horses (6-0, 6-2) is coming off a 63-58 win Wednesday over Cohoes. Evan Fort and Schuyler Thomas each scored 18 points to lead the Black Horses. Girls’ basketball Saratoga Springs is on the road at Guilderland. The Blue Streaks (2-3, 5-4) have turned their season around recently. Led by junior Stacy McElroy (13.3 PPG), Saratoga is looking for its fourth win in five games. Boys’ swimming and diving This winter couldn’t be going any better for Saratoga Springs as the Blue Streaks are off to a perfect 6-0 start. Saratoga travels to Amsterdam today. Wrestling Saratoga Springs hosts its annual tourney on Saturday with matches starting at 10 a.m. for the all-day event. |
