SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Saratoga Phillies baseball team will joined members of Rebuilding Together Saratoga County (RTSC) on June 18 to help upgrade some of the athletic facilities at Fort Hardy Park in Schuylerville.
“As part of RTSC’s National Workday, the Schuylerville Teachers Association helped upgrade some of the facilities at the community center at Fort Hardy Park. The Saratoga Phillies will now continue that effort by helping to improve some of the athletic fields and equipment at Fort Hardy Park. The Saratoga Phillies efforts to work within the community and enhance some of the athletic facilities, particularly the baseball fields, is a perfect community service project for the team to be involved in. RTSC and the local community is grateful that the team is willing to come out and help other athletes,” said Michelle Larkin, founder and Board President of Rebuilding Together Saratoga County. In the past the Saratoga Phillies have also generously given baseball camp sponsorships and T-shirts as auction items for RTSC’s annual fall fundraising dinner. Phillies Managing Partner Keith Rogers said, “We were very excited about the opportunity to work with such a fine organization and look forward to a long relationship with RTSC. We feel fortunate to support a community that supports us. This project complements our efforts in building strong foundations for our young players. It helps our players assimilate to Saratoga and the community. The success of our program is not solely based on the win and loss column but how these dedicated, focused, and community-minded individuals are afforded the opportunity to build on their leadership skills. It’s all part of the Phillies experience.” Rebuilding Together Saratoga County is a not-for-profit affiliate of a national organization that rehabilitates the homes of low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners in Saratoga County. The organization also develops partnerships with other non-profits, helping them with some of their maintenance needs. Rebuilding Together is the nation’s largest volunteer-based provider of homer repair services. For more information, go to www.rebuildingtogethersaratoga.com, e-mail
