Business - Sudsy business venture for Frivolous manager PDF Print E-mail

To finish off any holiday shopping, Jennifer Wait has gifts that anyone could use.

Wait, the assistant manager of Frivolous, has been making organic soaps since she was 20.

“They make a perfect holiday gift,” Wait said.

Wait learned the trade from a woman while she was living in California and she inspired Wait to learn more. She has taken classes and done research on essential oils and perfumes and now has her own line, J. Wait Originals.

“All my soaps are made from natural products,” Wait said.

She said her soaps have natural ingredients with exfoliating properties, which removes dead skin cells. She doesn’t use chemicals or animal fats in them.

“Different oils are used for different things,” Wait said. “I can formulate a soap that meets the needs to your skin.”

Her background in essential oils allows her to custom orders for her clients. She said the best part of her soaps is that she can customize to each client.

For example, lavender is used for calming and other oils are used for dry skin. Wait said she can add other fun ingredients for customers for added fragrances, like coffee beans. She said caffeine is good for the skin.

Wait said a batch can take a couple of hours to make and for the soap to harden, but it depends on the type and size of the batch.

“A lot of my bars are done in layers,” Wait said.

She said one layer is moisturizing and the other is exfoliating. She said this line is great for dry skin during the winter. That line is available at Frivolous.

Another aspect of the soaps is Wait can do custom packaging too for the recipient of the gift.

Wait said she is looking at teaching classes too.
