Frank Adams Jewelers is open in Saratoga Springs.
President Kimberly Adams Russell thinks she’s brought something unique to the Spa City. Jeff Russell, Kimberly’s husband, and store manager, Janine Robinson, will be at the Saratoga location at The Lofts at 18 Division St. “This is a big year for us,” Jeff Russell said. This year marks the 85th year of Frank Adams Jewelers. This is the second location in the history of the business. The grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1 starting at 5 p.m. “It’s been a long time in the making,” Adams Russell said. She said she’s wanted to open another store for a while, but had to wait for everything to come into place. She said her parents – David and Rochelle Adams – have been very supportive of the expansion of the business and have come in to help out in the new store. “We pride ourselves on being a family run business,” Jeff Russell said. The couple has been residents of Saratoga since 1989 and is part of why they wanted to open a store here. When looking for a space, Jeff and Kimberly said they thought about renovating a space, but in the end decided to build new with Sonny Bonacio at The Lofts. “He was an instrumental part of getting us here,” Russell said of Bonacio. “He felt what we had to offer was the right image he was looking for.” Russell said shopping at their new location should be a comfortable, enjoyable shopping experience. “We have a good reputation and being around for as long as we have says something,” he said. Robinson said it’s been a lot of work to get to the point of opening, but it has been a lot of fun getting here. She said they started purchasing merchandise last year in the anticipation of opening. “It’s more beautiful than I anticipated,” Robinson said of the outcome of the store. “I think the customers will be very pleased.” The 2,700 square-foot store offers, what Jeff Russell says are lines mostly exclusive to Frank Adams. David Yurman, Omega, Cartier, Christian Bauer and Garavelli are a few of the company’s lines. One line that isn’t at the Albany location is Dunhill London, a mostly men’s line of cuff links, wallets, pens, money clips and belts. Jewelry and watch repairs are done in house, between the Saratoga store and Albany location in Stuyvesant Plaza. Russell said the selection of quality jewelry is great and customers can see the “pop and sparkle” of the merchandise. He said there are some beautiful and elegant pieces to choose from. Having a variety of watch lines gives customers a chance to explore their options, Russell said. Russell said he is excited about being apart of a growing area not even a block off of Broadway. “Frivolous is opening next door in the spring and Chianti’s Ristorante is pushing for a February opening,” Russell said. “It is a destination right in the middle of downtown.” Adams Russell said she knew this location was the right fit and looks forward to being joined by the other two businesses in 2008. |
