Business - Hampton Inn at 38 High Rock opens its doors PDF Print E-mail

The Hampton Inn & Suites, part of the luxury condominium/hotel complex located at 38 High Rock Ave., opened its doors Monday, July 14 for business.

"We are going like crazy now," said General Manager Nancy Langford. "We've had a lot of calls and walk-ins. People are ready to book and come stay here."

Langford said the Saratoga Springs Hampton Inn & Suites is unique to the chain because of its hardwood floors and other woodworking throughout the hotel complex.

"It's just something you don't typically see in a Hampton. Mike Hoffman and Frank Parillo are big on the look and feel of Saratoga and wanted to make sure that this hotel had it. It's very elegant inside, and has the 'Saratoga look' on the outside," she said.

For the first night of business, eight rooms were checked out by guests waiting to try out the new hotel. Some people were on business and others were simply passing through, Langford said. Tuesday and Wednesday saw about 20 rooms checked out, and a sell-out is expected for this weekend as people are filtering into Saratoga Springs for the upcoming opening of the Saratoga Race Track.

"We knew going in that this weekend would be a busy one," Langford said. "We knew the town as a whole would be busy, and we are extremely pleased with the response so far with the opening week."

Guests have commented on the interior of the hotel and its amenities, she said.

"It's been well received so far. We are just getting prepared for the rush of racing season," she said.

The hotel is part of the city's only condominium/hotel combination. The hotel has 123 rooms and suites and 6 meeting rooms. The condos will feature 45 luxury condominiums ranging from $400,000 to $1.5 million in price. The homes will have one to three bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, large bathrooms and private terraces. The residents of the condos will have direct access to all of the amnesties of the hotel, including use of the pool and weight room. Last month, it was announced that a Bellini's Italian Eatery will also be located on the property of 38 High Rock Ave. and will be open next year.
