Emily A. (Foote) Baker
Saratoga Springs – Emily A. (Foote) Baker entered into eternal rest on July 5, 2008 with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 80. Born January 23, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Grace E. (Mallery) Foote. Emily worked at Saratoga Hospital for forty-two years retiring in 1993. She loved bingo and you could always find her there every Monday and Thursday night. Emily also enjoyed going for rides and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, Emily was predeceased by her husband George Ephraim Baker, two sisters, Elizabeth (Foote) DeGregory and Grace (Foote) Frith and one brother, Edson Foote. Survivors include her son Edwin (Rosemarie) Barnes; three grandchildren, Loretta (Eugene) Mohr, Grace and her fiancé Nathan Craig, Emily and her fiancé Michael Mount; seven great-grandsons, Michael, Christopher, Joshua, Cody, Matthew, Jacob and Zayden; and two nieces, Jane (Leonard) Wells and Grace Frith. We would like to thank our Mother for her immeasurable kindness and giving Grammy the best care. We would also like to thank Saratoga Hospice and Dr. George Jolly. Words cannot express our gratitude for all that everyone had done. Relatives and friends gathered on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes in Saratoga Springs. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial followed at Greenridge Cemetery, Lincoln Ave in Saratoga Springs. Memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. |
