Maria “Mary” F. Simonik

 

Greenfield Center – Maria “Mary” F. Simonik passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Glens Falls Hospital. She was 93.

 

Born July 30, 1914 in Woodside, Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Maria Mican Indracek. She was married for 41 years to the late Andrew Simonik. Mary worked as a sewing machine operator and fabric inspector at the Van Raalte Company in Saratoga Springs for over 30 years. She enjoyed cooking, spending time outdoors, camping and fishing and loved tending to her flower garden.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers – Edmund III, Otmar and Oldrich Indracek.

 

She is survived by two sons; William E. Simonik and his wife Terry of Utica, Allen R. Simonik and his wife Doris of Greenfield Center, two granddaughters, Diane Simonik of South Glens Falls, Karen Trascritti and her husband Chuck and one great grandson, Aaron Trascritti all of Naperville, Ill.

 

Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway in Saratoga Springs. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Weibel Avenue in Saratoga Springs.

 

Memorials may be made in Mary’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
