David E. Cavenaugh
Daytona Beach Shores, FL – David E. Cavenaugh, Captain, US Army Signal Corp., retired, passed away May 8, 2008 at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach. Mr. Cavenaugh was born on Sept. 26, 1919 in Wilmington, NC and moved to Daytona Beach Shores from Saratoga Springs in 1994. He was a graduate of the Georgia School of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He retired as chief engineer for Espey Manufacturing and Electronics Corp. in Saratoga Springs and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Ormond Beach, a member of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and a senior member in the Institute of Electrical Engineers. He was a member and past president of the Saratoga Springs Lions Club and a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Antoinette Cavenaugh in 1994. Survivors include two sons, David Elliot of Bricktown, NJ, and Glen Calvert of Santo Domingo, DR; one granddaughter, Jeanne Cavenaugh; three stepchildren, Christopher Canterino of Wilton, NY, Michael Canterino of Goshen NY and Ava Marco of Wilton NY and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services and interment were conducted on Tuesday, July 1, 2007 at the family plot in Greenridge Cemetery, Lincoln Ave. There were no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes in Saratoga Springs. |
