Queensbury, NY – Evelyn Ida Suttle passed away peacefully on May 22, 2008 at Stanton Nursing Center in Queensbury, NY.

Born on Sept. 2, 1917 in Northumberland, she was the daughter of the late William and Bessie (Osborne) McCartis. She had been employed as a domestic worker for many local families.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Thomas G. Suttle, who died April 1, 1987 and one sister, Sadie E. Durkee, who died Jan. 7, 2001.

Mrs. Suttle was the loving mother of two sons, Thomas W. Suttle and his wife, Carol and Paul E. Suttle and his wife, Jeanine, all of Saratoga Springs; two daughters, Joan A. Hill (her late husband, John) of Oneonta and Jean M. Szekely and her husband John Szekely of Saratoga Springs; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at the convenience of the family.  There are no calling hours.
