Michael R. Nappi

 

Saratoga Springs – Michael R. Nappi, 36, of Greenfield Center, joined his mother in heaven on June 20, 2008 after a courageous and valiant, 4-month battle with cancer with his family by his side.

 

Born August 8, 1971, he was the son of Richard A. Nappi of Greenfield Center and the late Sandra L Nappi. He was a 1990 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. He was employed by Pallette Stone Quarry and was a member of Teamster Local 294. Mike enjoyed riding his motorcycle, country music, hunting, camping and NASCAR. He coached his sons’ little league baseball teams. He loved going to country music concerts with his wife.  He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family, immediate and extended.

 

In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Carl Nappi, his maternal grandmother, Mamie York-Hughes, his infant nephew, Bradley Nappi and his aunt Nancy Nappi.

 

Survivors in addition to his father are his devoted wife, Tammy Nappi, of Greenfield Center, his children, Scott Nappi, Justin Laviolette and Galadriel Lovett and his granddaughter Savannah Lovett. He is survived by his brothers Kirt Nappi (Darlene) and his children Kassie and Richard of Porter Corners and Timothy Nappi (Klaire) and their children Elizabeth and Zachary. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother Gertrude Nappi of Schenectady and his maternal grandfather Horace Lubee of Maine; his father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Roxanna Whipple. He is also survived by his brother and sisters-in-law Melanie (Nitesh) and their children, Jason and his children, Travis (Tracy) and their children. His aunts and uncles, Carl and Diane Nappi of Glenville and Thomas and Donna Nappi and Francis Nappi of Schenectady, Rosemarie “Veda” and Jeff Wyman and Bonnie and Bill Bergeron of Maine.

 

He is also survived by many cousins and close friends, including his best friend, Scott Seeley of Virginia and his dog Duff.

 

The family would like to thank the nurses as Saratoga Hospital A3 for their care and compassion during Mike’s lengthy stay.

 

Melatives and friends gathered on Monday, June 23, 2008 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes in Saratoga Springs.

 

Funeral services took place on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saratoga Springs, officiated by Pastor James A. Jaekel.

 

A gathering of relatives and friends took place immediately following burial at the I.T.A.M., 247 Grand Avenue in Saratoga.

 

Memorial contributions may be made payable to Klaire Nappi. 286 Washington St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 in trust for Scott Nappi or to the American Cancer Society.
