Ronald E. Brust

 

Saratoga Springs – Ronald E. Brust of Saratoga Springs died on Thursday, June 19, 2008 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer with his loving family at his side. He was 57.

 

Born on November 3, 1950 in Troy, NY, he was the son of Ronald W. and Irene (Carknard) Brust.

 

Ron was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp., serving during Vietnam. He was employed by the Watervliet Arsenal as a quality control inspector.

 

Ron was a very warm and loving husband, father, brother, son, grandfather and father-in- law – he will be greatly missed. He was especially happy when he was spending time with his grandchildren; he also enjoyed gardening, painting or watching the races at the track. He was an avid New York Jets fan.

 

Ron is survived by his loving wife Merleann (DeLude) and his mother Irene. He is also survived by his daughters, Jody (Ryan) Kendrick of Ravena, Jennifer Brust of Waterford and Nicole (Michael Jr.) Pickel of Clifton Park; his grandchildren, Tory and Jenna Kendrick and Aaliyah Ricks; his brothers, David Brust of Mechanicville, Gerald Brust of Schaghticoke, Terry Brust of Valley Falls, John Brust of Mechanicville, Michael Brust of Valley Falls; and a sister; Tracey (Brust) Mowrey of Valley Falls. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

He is predeceased by his father Ronald W. Brust and his brother Gerry Brust.

 

Relatives and friends gathered on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes in Saratoga Springs. A funeral service was held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 24, 2008. Burial was immediately following at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville with full military honors.

 

Memorial contributions in memory of Ron may be made to the Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY.
