Donald Joseph Nash

 

Donald Joseph Nash, 78, a resident of Akron, NY died Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Mary and Ralph Wilson, Jr. Hospice Unit in Cheektowaga, NY.

 

Born September 21, 1929 in Cambridge, NY, he was the son of Leo and Betty Flynn Nash. He was married for 49 years to Alyce Morrison until her death in March 2002. Don was a communicant of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Akron.

 

Don served in the U.S. Army before becoming a salesman for Balfour Company, Taylor Publishing and Josten’s Company, servicing schools in the Capital District area and ending his career in Western New York.

 

Don’s unconditional love of family and friends made all feel special and at home with him. His many enjoyments included family events, camping and traveling with Alyce and their many friends, the Buffalo Bills, the Log cabin gang and most of all fishing.

 

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased a brother, Edward Nash.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Jennings and her husband, Randy of Greenwich; 2 sons, Tim Nash and his wife, Sue of Monaca, PA., and Jerry Nash and his wife. Amy of Clarence, NY; a brother, Leo Nash and his wife Edna of Gansevoort, NY; and 2 sisters, Helen Ackerman of Winstead, CT and Janet Aldous and her husband, Clayton of Greenwich; 6 grandchildren, Stacey (Kevin) Randall, Sarah (Kris) Boice, Shelly (Eric) DuPuis, Chris and Scott Nash, and Nicholas Colombo; 6 great grandchildren, Morgan and Megan Randall, Sophie Boice, and Erica, Victoria, and Hunter DuPuis; also several nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Church in Greenwich with Rev. Christopher Welch officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery Greenwich.

 

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 13 at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main Street, Greenwich, NY.
