Ruth E. Pechette

 

Schuylerville – Ruth E. Pechette passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

 

Born in Schenectady on August 8, 1917, she was the last surviving child of Franklin and Katherine VanEtten.

 

Ruth attended Mechanicville High School. She was a member of the Quaker Springs Grange and the Ladies of St. Anne Rosary Society. At one time she was employed at United Board & Carton Corp. in Victory Mills.

 

Besides being an excellent baker, Ruth enjoyed knitting, playing cards, reading, doing crossword puzzles, telling stories, and listening to music from the Big Band Era.

 

Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Harold Pechette Sr., 1 son, Edward Pechette; and 1 granddaughter, Teresa Moore of Adel, GA.

 

Ruth is survived by 2 sons, Harold (Cassie) Pechette Jr. of Victory Mills and Duane Pechette of Queensbury; 5 daughters, Carole (Charles) Moore of Adel, GA, Mary Pechette of Pine Plains, Kathleen (Leslie) Rathbun of Victory Mills, Loretta (John) Relyea of Ft. Edward, and Verla White of Schuylerville; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her special friend Marlene McKinney of Saratoga Lake.

 

There will be no calling hours and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

 

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Debbie Canfield and Dixie Smith for their care and support.
