Lillian M. Palmetto
Saratoga Springs, NY – Lillian M. Palmetto, formerly of Circular Street, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the Wesley Health Care Center. She was 96. Born on January 29, 1912 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Angelina (DiRienzo) Colamaria. Lillian was crowned the first Miss Saratoga and was a member of the Saratoga Town Hall Players. Prior to her marriage, she worked at the family restaurant, Colamaria’s and in recent years she managed family-owned rental properties. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Evaldo Palmetto, who died in 1989 and one sister, Anne Mackay. Survivors include her son, Nicholas Palmetto and his wife Madeline; one daughter, Janice DeMaria, all of Saratoga Springs; three sisters, Victoria Shea, Natalie Cummings, Marie McManus and one brother, James Colamaria, all of Saratoga Springs; five grandchildren, Donna Cameron, William DeMaria, Darin Palmetto, Erik Palmetto and Niki Palmetto; three great-grandchildren, Thomas Chandler, Timothy Chandler and Stella Palmetto. Relatives and friends gathered on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes in Saratoga Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at St. Clement’s Church by the Rev. Neil Draves-Arpaia. Burial followed in the family plot at St. Peter’s Cemetery on West Avenue in Saratoga Springs.
