Saratoga Springs – Anna M. Macica, 69, a resident of Route 29, passed away at the Saratoga Hospital on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 after a brief illness

                                                               

Born May 22, 1938 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of Paul Vidnansky, Sr. and Julia Krebs Vidnansky.

 

She owned and operated Macica Dairy Farm in Schuylerville for many years and was a member of the National Farmers Organization. In recent years she was associated with the family business on Route 29 (Schuyler Farms) in the operation of their greenhouses and Corn Maze.

 

Anna was a communicant of Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville, a member of the American Legion Unit #278 in Schuylerville, and of Lodge # 2223 BPOE Auxiliary in Greenwich.

 

She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren, loved country music, and was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan.

 

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Sylvester Macica, a son Joseph Macica, and a brother John Vidnansky.

 

Survivors are her children, Julia (Michael) Barron of Saratoga Springs, Dr. Carolyn Macica Weiderecht and her husband Matthew of Woodbridge, CT., Constance (Glenn) Jacobson of Charlton, Margaret Hatin and her companion Douglas David of Queensbury, Thomas (June) Macica of Victory Mills, Kenneth Macica of Schuylerville, and Gerard Macica and his fiancé Kimberly Lyman of Schaghticoke; sisters, Millie Brown of Bacon Hill, Rose Thivierge of Schuylerville, and Pauline Anderson of St. George, Utah; brother Paul Vidnansky, Jr. of Saratoga Springs; 11 grandchildren, Morgan, Victoria and Alyssa Hatin, Mary, Jonathan and Jacob Macica, Alicia and Kevin Ryan, Shalyn and Evan Macica, Sarah Weiderecht, and Jake Barron; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church, Pearl Street, Schuylerville with the Rev. Christopher Welch officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Schuylerville.

 

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, May 16, 2008 at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave. Schuylerville. The family suggests memorials in her name be made to Schuyler Hose Company, 35 Spring Street, Schuylerville, NY 12871

 

Members of Schuyler Hose Auxiliary and Schuyler Hose Company will meet 6:30 p.m. tonight (Friday) at the funeral home
