Sarah “Sally” Murray Hlavaty
Saratoga Springs – Sarah “Sally” Murray Hlavaty passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Saratoga Hospital. She was 89. Born on July 1, 1918 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Murray. She was devoted to her family and her home and gardens were her greatest pleasures. Sally was a lifelong communicant of St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church and had worked for Liggett’s and Menges and Curtis drug stores, A.K. Rapelje and Congress Gas and Oil Company in Saratoga Springs. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Michael Hlavaty; her brothers, James and John Murray and her sister, Catherine DeShaw. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara (Paul) Mansfield and Betsy (Walter) Delay of Saratoga Springs, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and one nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. today, May 9, 2008 in St. Clement’s Church, 231 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs by the Rev. Francis E. Sullivan, C.Ss.R. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Ave. There are no public calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes of Saratoga Springs. |
