Katherine Rose Rice
Saratoga Springs – Katherine Rose Rice passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 2, 2008 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA. She was 16. Born on Sept. 23, 1991 in Smithtown, NY, she is the daughter of Margaret Mary Rice of Saratoga Springs. A junior in high school in Pennsylvania, Katherine was a very caring and loving young lady. She had a passion for working with animals, the elderly and handicapped adults. Katherine loved playing and spending time with her cousins, Justin and Brandon. Talented in the arts, she enjoyed music, drawing and had one of her poems published in The Teacher’s Selection Anthology of Poetry 2002 Edition entitled “Longing for A Home.” She is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Kenneth W. and Kathleen Kiley Rice. In addition to her mother, Katherine is survived by her aunts, Patricia Mieth and her husband Jeffrey of Mesa, AZ., Christine Rice of Glens Falls, NY; two cousins, Justin and Brandon Mieth of Mesa, AZ and her “Uncle” Matt McCarthy of NYC. Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 10:30 am today, May 9, 2008 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway in Saratoga Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately after at 11 a.m. in St. Clement’s Church, 231 Lake Ave., Saratoga by the Rev. Arthur B. Tuttle, C.Ss.R. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Avenue, Saratoga. Memorials may be made in Katherine’s name to Jenn’s House, 3250 S.
